THE HONORS PROGRAM |
About the Honors Program |
The Mt. SAC Honors Program began in 1994 in order to meet the needs of motivated students with a strong academic record. Our program offers honors sections of transferable general education courses. These courses provide an enriched curriculum, seminar-type classes, close interaction with honors program faculty, and special projects and activities. Honors courses strengthen students’ college transcripts and increase their chances for transfer to four-year institutions. |

- Opportunity to participate in Honors Leadership Team

Honors Scholars Certification |
Honors students who complete 30 units, including six Honors courses with a "C" or better, and achieve a 3.2 cumulative bachelor-level GPA, you can be certified as a Mt. SAC Honors Scholar. Honors Scholars are recognized in the following ways:
- Notation on your transcript "Certified Honors Program Scholar"
- Transferring/graduating Honors Scholars are Invited to the Honors Celebration Dinner in the Spring
- Designation in the Commencement Program booklet
- Honors pin
- Honors Scholar Certificate
- Invitation to Honors Celebration Dinner for transferring and graduating Honors Scholar
